The internet is rife with biased and unsubstantiated claims from the organic industry, and the treatment of issues such as food safety and quality by the media ("if it bleeds, it leads") tends to have a negative impact on consumer perceptions about conventional food. Until recently, more and more consumers in many countries were opting to buy organic food over conventional food, resulting in a radical shift in food retailing. This was due to concerns over chemical residues, food poisoning resulting in recalls, food scares such as "mad-cow" disease, issues like gene-modified (GM foods), antibiotics, hormones, cloning and concerns over the way plants and animals are being grown commercially as food sources. As a result there has been an expansion of the organic industry and the supply of organic foods at farmers` markets, supermarkets and specialty stores.Effects of Organic Production on Food Quality is the first comprehensive book on how organic production methods influence the safety and quality of foods, based on an unbiased assessment of the latest scientific findings.  The title is a `must-have` for everyone working within the food industry.Comprehensive explanation of organic production methods and effects on the safety and quality of foodsAuthoritative, unbiased and up-to-date examination of relevant global scientific researchAnswers the questions of whether organic food is more nutritious and/or more healthy

is really hard to find Organic Food / vegetarian, huh?
I go to the extra food or sometimes co-op for my food because of its closest to my house, and no grocery store organic / natural at all (I live in a small town, but not so small). when I go shopping, do not I know what to buy organic because there are limited things. and are so damn expensive! advice?
I find it easier and easier as I learned it to look for. There are a lot of things on there especially ethnic food. This is a good idea to start finding new vegan recipes to try and buy ingredients in the store, instead of trying to find Vegetables / vegan packaged foods. No evidence of soy dogs and such, but trying to buy lentils! Buying ingredients to make your own falafel! Try the couscous! Have a variety of fresh and find a good Soysauce or tamari and stir-fry often (I love it omitted his being my favorite), I would not worry too much about your product is organic. Just look at what to buy and be discriminatory. If it appears that freakfruit not buy it. Fruits and vegetables normal is always good to eat. Do some research background on the producers, and learn about their farming methods are, then decide what to buy. The food is labeled as organic is not necessarily better, and you're right, it is very expensive. One of my absolute favorite sites for this sort of thing is "http://community.livejournal.com/vegancooking." It's really interesting to see, there is a huge archive of recipes submitted by users and the problems that are marked so its super easy to find what you're looking for!
