Here is a question for you Organic Food eating pro choicers..?
Our local “Whole Foods” market is refusing to carry live lobsters, as they claim it is inhumane. However, they are a huge contributor to Planned Parenthood. So, does this mean they value the life of a lobster over an unborn child? (just so you know, I am a pro-choice republican…just thought this was a good question, because I like lobster)
They don’t value the life of either. Every business has one sole purpose – to generate wealth for its shareholders.
The taking of any animal life is a shame. Especailly if it is not neccessary. Whole Foods is corporation with shareholders and must maximize it’s profits where it can. With their customer base they probably don’t sell enough lobster for it to be profitable so they cancel the product line and announce it under an “ethical to animals” banner. Very smart PR.
If they contribute to Planned Parenthood then they must be pandering to social or political groups so they won’t get boycotted. Everything any business does is motivated by profit.
It is a smart question you ask though…shows how people and corporations can easily be hypocritical.
Take me for example – I hold life memberships with both PETA and the NRA. Hahahaha! Go figure!
