Where can you buy alternative, hard to find, (and often organic) food (spices, grains beans) online in Canada?
It has to be a place that ships from Canada to avoid paying stupid charges, unless they ship to Canada for a good rates.
I’m looking for a retail supplier, I just want to have the selection that one would have if they lived in a bigger centre (like Vancouver). I’m looking for a place that would sell me some flour to make a little bit of bread, not a lot of it. Think of Amazon.com (they sell more then just books, unlike amazon.ca).
Simple:
Canada
Canadian Organic Growers (COG) www.cogdir.ca — COG’s online Database of Organics in Canada.
Organic Trade Association (OTA) www.theorganicpages.com — OTA’s directory, The Organic Pages Online
Seeds of Diversity Canada www.seeds.ca — A link to a list of commercial sources of heritage seeds and plants is available on this web site.
Biodynamic Farming and Gardening Association www.biodynamics.com — A link to a database of CSA farms. Canadian data is incomplete, but about 40 Canadian CSAs are listed.

Many schools and colleges such as Yale and Stanford now serve organic food to their students. People are choosing organic because they want a healthier and safer alternative to ”conventional”food with its use of toxic pesticides antibiotics hormones and genetic engineering.
