How can I make friends now that I have a baby? And real friends who share similar interests other than kids.?
I would like to find real live friends who like to do the things I like to do: hike, bike, discuss philosophy and environmental issues, eat Organic Food. Where can I find people like this in my town?
All the places I would usually go to to find people like this, I cannot go to any more. Locally owned coffee shops are out because all we have is Starbucks, at least 4 of them, and that’s not my culture. I’m against Starbucks. There is a recreation club at school that goes on hiking trips and stuff, but I do not have time, and I don’t want to go hiking without my daughter, so I cannot go with the club.
Maybe music or art shows are an option, but events like that are few and far between in my area. And I don’t believe in church and can’t bring a baby into the bar. So where else can I go to meet friends? And how should I act in order to improve my chances of meeting a good one?
You should go to more child oriented places and then maybe you’ll meet some other parents who are looking for some adult interaction as well.
