farmers market wedding reception
I am having my wedding reception at the Winter Park Farmers Market in Florida. I need help with a theme?

The Winter Park Farmers Market used to be an old train depot where they would import and ship citrus and other products. Now, the building is used for a Farmer’s Market on Saturday’s. The building is brick with concrete floors, high ceilings, white string lights on the ceiling, exposed piping, etc. Sort of an industrial, loft feeling.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I could use as a theme? I was thinking something like industrial/ lofty chic, but not really sure what type of elements I could use for that theme. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated! Thanks!

You could do something kinda obvious and kinda strange by using the whole train thing as a theme. No, seriously, it could be cute. You could put a circle of train tracks with a couple cars (train cars, that is) in the middle of the tables, maybe think up something to put within them. If you don’t have colors picked out yet, you could pick a dark red to go with the brick thing and maybe an off-white or tan. Like the color of old newspapers? If you’re having a display of picture of you and your spouse, you could do them in an old-fashion style.

Or, hmmm… lemme think. You could go with the whole citrus thing. Everybody might not know about it, but you could stack a couple of old, wooden boxes, like crates, in a couple of corners. The centerpiece could involve an orange square on a white table cloth, or orange fabric bunched up in a circle, and then go with an orange, citrus scented candle on an old-fashion looking candleholder or maybe a simple bowl of water with pebbles at the bottom and an orange flower and leaf or a curled piece of orange peal floating on top. Your cafe could be topped with curls of orange peel or maybe the little flowers of oranges before they bloom or a mixture of both. You got stick a couple of artifical trees in the room, somehow give it a slight scent of orange… mix up the idea that the train depot is shipping oranges and the sensation of being in an orchard of oranges. Could be nice.
