Do you think NAFTA has contributed to the increase in illegal immigration?

I think it’s pretty clear to everyone that the purpose of NAFTA was to take from the poor and give to the rich in all three countries who signed the treaty (US, Mexico, Canada).

According to Wikipedia’s EZLN page: “The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is an example of neoliberal (capitalist) policy that the EZLN is against. Apart from opening the Mexican market to cheap mass-produced US agricultural products it spells an end to Mexican crop subsidies and drastically reduces income and living standards of many southern Mexican farmers who cannot compete with the subsidized, artificially fertilized, mechanically harvested and genetically modified imports from the United States. The signing of NAFTA also resulted in the removal of Article 27 Section VII in the Mexican Constitution which previously had guaranteed land reparations to indigenous groups throughout Mexico.”

What do you think? Is NAFTA forcing poor farmers and workers to come here in search of better wages?

Yes, I heard something about that when I went to Mexico last week. I heard that its going to be harder for the farmers in Mexico to live, so they are going to immigrate to the USA. I have seen that many illegals are not coming anymore to work at our fields and the ranchers cannot find anyone to work the fields so that’s why they doing this,
