What is the best place to go: La Brea Tar Pits and the National Museum of History?

My grandmother and my aunt is going to Los Angeles and I am planning a route. Were in Los Angeles a couple of times to skinnping usual tourist attractions in Los Angeles. I think something that my grandmother will enjoy. I made the Griffith Observatory Olvera Street and the Farmers Market. Only one weekend too, so not much time for long trips. On the other hand, does not like being in a car for hours should be a maximum of 30-40 Torrance, California. Olvera Street, sorry. I was referring to 30-40 minutes. Third Street Promenade is a good and clean environment? We will be there for the day. I read the comments of Philip and it was 50/50 so it will be decided once they are in the region. Thanks. I would add the Museum Getty too. If you are registered for the street Olvera (Olvera not) have a churro for me. Phillippe and get on the Alameda approximately one block from Union Station. And while you're there, check out Union Station. It is a monument to an era when trains were king and it's awesome to see. Try to take the Red Line subway to some other places too, like Hollywood or Universal City.
