Riverside Market Garden £ 10,000 for research by ethical investors

Riverside Market Garden is a new production model of ethics sustainable local food. These 10 new acres of vegetables near Cardiff has created more fresh food available to the local community. To develop the draft project is seeking initial funding of £ 10,000. The initial investment starts as low as 50 pounds.

The business model

Riverside Business Plan Market Garden shows that within five years, the market garden into a community has its own business. It has a volume of businesses of around £ 170,000, and produce a modest benefit.

The site will produce a large variety of organic vegetables, focusing on crops greater value as salads and fruits. Some of these products will become soups, sauces and other products. The polytunnel which will extend the growing season and also to produce Caribbean and Asian vegetables to meet the needs of various ethnic communities in Cardiff.

Related to culture, Riverside Market Garden will also offer training and care placements, educational visits for schools and colleges and days of fun for fans of the community.

Riverside Market Garden designed to raise the first £ 10,000 and the end of September 2010, by private and community investment. Staff costs and other income will be covered by grants that have already been made and revenue generated by sales of products.

The Riverside Market Garden business plan which was prepared by experts in nurseries and local food marketing, said the market will become self-financing Garden 4 years. A second phase of investment to raise another £ 20,000 is planned for winter 2010/11.
