If road biking in Los Angeles?

Just moved to Los Angeles from New York. Any suggestions for where form on my road bike? I'm used to a lot of bicycle traffic (ie, Central Park, West Side Road), will not be a route from the cluttered mind. Not know where to start! I live near the Grove / market for agriculture, but have a bike rack for my car and travel. Thanks! Los Angeles!

There is a very nice bike path that runs along Santa Monica, Torrance lower while along the beach. It is 20 miles or less in each direction. It is supposed a really good along the river too, but I've never tried.
