Are farmer’s markets cheaper than grocery stores?

On the one hand it seems like they would be because there’s no middle-man. You know, only one person needing money. On the other hand, it seems like they would be more expensive because the farmer (or whoever) can set their own price.

I could solve this by just going to a farmer’s market, but even though I live in Arkansas, there aren’t very many around here.

We have a summers farmers market where I live. (in washington state) I definitly find their produce to be much cheaper than in grocery stores. Plus, its nice to support the grower by cutting out the middle man…And also, to know where your food in coming from. Definitely shop their if possible,.
