twin pregnancy weight gain??

On average, what is the average weight gain week to week for twins? I am 18 wks, 6 ft tall, and I started at 171lbs my normal weight. I have gained 6lbs. My husband doesn’t think I am gaining enough weight, he is going off of watching what and how much im eating. My doc says not to worry about it till later on in the pregnancy. I know I am not eating as much as I should but I am just not hungry for what is around me down here in the south. (Georgia) I’ve grown up in california my whole life and I have only been in Georgia since oct of last year. I am used to eating falafels and sprouts and LOTS OF AVOCADO, Farmers Market salads, spinach and feta calzones, tofu everyhting but deep fried everything. I am not trying to sound rude, but I am gagging right now cuz my hubby called right now and was like “what do u have a taste for?” He wants to take me out to dinner and I know we are either gonna go to outback steak house or ruby tuesdays. HELP!!!!!!!!

Oh dear! You poor thing. Just eat what ever you can that you like. Tell him how you feel that you don’t like all those fatty food because the list you supplied looks pretty healthy to me and any baby feeding off that is going to be pretty healthy too!
Make sure you are getting enough iron in your diet.

The weight gains they say you should gain is just a guide there are no set amount you HAVE to put on. If your doctor isn’t worried then you should be either.

Heres something I found though: Mothers carrying two or more fetuses need more calories, protein, and other nutrients, including iron. Higher weight gain is also recommended for multiple pregnancy. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends women carrying twins gain at least 35 to 45 pounds.

But in all honesty.. if your doc isn’t worried and if your babies are measuring at the right length and dates in your scans everything is most likely OK.

EDIT: Another bit I found: By 24 weeks Dr. Luke in her book, When You’re Expecting Twins, Triplets or Quadruplets suggests by 24 weeks that a twin mom gain 24 lbs.
