thinking of going to sac state: what is sacramento like?

hello,

I had my heart set on going to san jose state. Unfortunately i was wait listed, and i have to have another option. I am living in southern california, and i want to move to northern california. i was looking foward to living in the bay area. sacramento seems like my closest option.

things i am concerned about when picking a place to stay:

farmers markets
eco concious people
is it a good place for a bike rider?
what is the public transport like?
pollution?
is it a valley?
what are the people like? are they liberal? laid back? republicans? looking for a place that is not very conservative.
is there a lot of opportunity for artists?

basically i wanted to move to the bay. now i need to find another option. what is sacramento like? looking fora laid back place with cool people.

Yes there is good farmers markets. I dont know nothin bout no eco conscious people. It is a good place for bike riders in good and bad neighborhoods. Public transportation can be real dangerous out here though so i suggest you dont go on buses and stuff after 6 or 7. I have no clue what liberal means but people are laid back until you make them mad. This place is very crazy at clubs and concerts. the only major opportunities in sacramento for artists would be in downtown. Most people in sacramento are immigrants(legal and illegal im friends with alot), from sacramento, or from the bay area. I was born in sacramento and i still live in sacramento.
