farmer market water
I weigh 155 pounds…Please tell me how I can lose some excess fat?!?

I am 5ft5inches tall. I have started walking and swimming lightly, but I really want to have more variety. I eat semi-healthy, but the fruits and veggies that I eat are usually from a can. I was thinking about visiting a Farmers Market…but I have yet to find one near me. I like fast food, but i dont eat it often. I drink water and green tea, but probably not as much as I should. What should I do as far as exercise and food goes? Can someone tell me a curcuit exercise program I might be able to try? I am also thinking about participating in a triathalon!

It’s going to be more difficult than you think, because you are not too far from your ideal weight. You should probably give yourself between 4-6 months (maybe even longer) to lose about 20 pounds. If I were you, I would aim and expect to see a 1/2 pound – 1 pound weight loss a week. Remember that 3,500 calories equals a pound. Therefore, you need a 500 calorie deficit each day to lose at least a pound a week. The smaller you are to begin with, the longer it will take to drop pounds. The heavier you are, the easier it is. That’s why weight loss slows down after heavier people have shed a lot of weight. You’re not that overweight to begin with so your weight may come off a bit slower than you would like. Remember to keep your sodium low, because it will only make you retain water and become bloated, not to mention have water weight show up on the scale.

As long as you exercise and eat properly, the weight will come off. Cardio is definitely the best thing you can do if you want to burn fat. Drink lots of water to flush out your system and kick up your metabolism. Remember to decrease your calorie intake as you lose weight as well, but not by too much. With your weight right now you should be consuming around, 1,050-1,500 calories a day. Remember that if you ever hit a plateau, you need to decrease your calorie intake and up your exercise. Remember to decrease your calorie intake as you lose your weight, too.

As for a gym, find one that you feel comfortable at. Also, find a gym that makes sure the machines are clean. Some gyms will have wipes that are put out and it’s mandatory that you clean the machine that you just used when you’re finished with it. They do this at my gym; Anytime Fitness. Find a gym with good hours, so you know that you’ll be able to fit it into your schedule. Ask if they offer any classes, such as Spinning classes or Yoga classes or whatnot. If you think you’d be interested in a personal trainer ask if they offer training sessions. If you have a specific gym in mind call them and ask if they offer a 7 day free trial so you can try it out and get a feel for the gym.

Hope this helps!
