How much money can I make at a small community Farmers Market?

so I am planning on making some things to sell at my community farmers market next summer and I was just wondering how much money it is possible to make in a day. I would hopefully be selling some jewelery, a little baking and occasionally some veggies, fruit, jam, or other things of the sort… taking into account how much it costs to buy the equipment and supplies, how much could I make? It’s a fairly small market with about 16 other vendors if that helps any…

first of all be sure to check the regulations of your farmers market. more and more do not allow any reselling. if you get caught doing so than you will be kicked out of that market. if there are no regulations at all and no manger find another market> The better run the market the more money you can make. free markets with no management seem the way to go but in the not so long run vendors find they don’t make much money because the market is not attracting enough customers.

I would think if you are a good marketer and engage potential customers you should be able to gross around $250 per market to start. but don’t get too discouraged if you make far less as most people need a couple of years to build up a customer base.

you should have enough inventory on hand to do $1000 in sales and you should expect to spend several thousand dollars to start, though all that is up to you.
