Best City in Michigan to start a family? Space for personal growth (business, study or leisure)?

Hi, I'm the peninsula north of Michigan State and I start with my husband in search of better jobs, but we have not had much luck! At present, comes to us and a little guy. We interested in having the possibility of technical training or certification for time, that he would follow liberal arts colleges and science later. The fans that we love to participate in outdoor and are like fishing, hiking, canoeing, and hunting. We also share a history of playing football. Personally, I like water sports above all else. I also took into yoga and martial arts. I am also an artist and informal gourmet. A number of things I like in our region for the moment I let go of the farmers markets are, kite skiing, yoga instructors, two near good schools, midwives, an Arts Council, a magnificent library has excellent programs for children and adolescents, and an academy of arts for children grade 8. However, I keep my options open!

Being from Michigan, I would say Grand Rapids at its discretion the better. You can leave the city in half an hour to do things in nature, which are 45 minutes maximum Grand Haven / Netherlands for water sports, and generally a good place to raise their children. I would choose a city around a good GR.
