The Grove, a mall like no other
Los Angeles is undoubtedly one of the world’s most magnetic cites. The largest city in the US state of California, Los Angeles is in the vanguard in the areas of international commerce, culture, entertainment, media, fashion, education and technology. Los Angeles possesses a multitude of leading institutions that place it at the forefront in a wide range of cultural and professional fields. Los Angeles is naturally known as the world’s entertainment capital, with Hollywood being one of its suburbs, and it is recognized as the world leader in movies, recorded music and television production. These attractions also attract many foreign visitors each year, with a multitude of tourists sampling the delights of the area.
The huge outdoor mall known as The Grove makes use of space previously occupied by an orchard and nursery, and the developers demolished older buildings to make room for the new mall, which opened in 2002. The design of The Grove is said to have been inspired by local Los Angeles buildings, with broad plazas and private courtyards.
The Grove contains a large centre park, featuring an intricately designed fountain. Every half hour, a music-fountain display is presented, and there is a somewhat different spectacle offered between the hourly exhibitions. The movement of the water reminds the beholder of Las Vegas’ Fountains of Bellagio, but on a lesser scale. Another attraction is the imposing statue of ‘The Spirit of Los Angeles’.
Trolley cars powered by electric engines connect The Grove with the nearby Farmers Market. The Grove features well known retail stores such as the Nordstrom department store, as well as Michael Kors, The Banana Republic, J. Crew, Nike, The Gap and Abercrombie & Fitch. There are also a number of specialty retailers like Crate & Barrel, Barnes & Noble, American Girl Place and Apple Store. Many restaurants and cafes to suit the taste of almost any diner can also be found at The Grove. A 14 screen movie theatre compound provides quality entertainment.
When considering a luxury hotel Beverly Hills offers no better choice than the Raffles L’Ermitage. This magnificent luxury hotel in Los Angeles provides sumptuous accommodation, delectable dining and exceptional service to provide a truly memorable experience.
