What is a reasonable budget for groceries for a family of four?
Our profit is about $ 3,850 per month .. sometimes a little over $ 100. Our food / items of the household budget is $ 1,200 per month … or $ 300 per week … for me, my husband is 12 years and 19 months age. We also have a dog and a cat. We owe a debt that we pay the … and live very frugally, but do not go to the cheapest places to buy food. We spent a little more on organic products in a store and cheap to make things as garbage bags, t-paper, diapers, etc in another store. I have curiosity to get opinions from the People on this figure. Is this reasonable based on our income? My husband thinks that is too high, but with two children and two pets, I think doing good!
$ 300 is very high. How much food to go bad before you can use? How much of that food is prepared food instead of yourself? For three of us (2 adults, February 1 years and a cat), spend about $ 100 per week (a little more when we have layers of the source). Our earnings are also higher, so it's not a question of having to tighten their belts and save – just choose to ignore the majority of convenience foods and cooking dinner and most cases ourselves.
