Why am i not losing the weight?

so for the past 3 weeks i’ve been on a low carb diet
the 1st week i lost 7 pounds eating protein
the second week i only lost 3 pounds but i was on my period so it was expected
now on my third week i haven’t lost anything i’ve done everything right and even started walking and working out my arms
wats happening and how come i’m not losing anything
i drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep
i’m on a 10 carb a day only the rest is al protein
i’ve instead begun to gain weigt the foods i eat are:
chicken breast, tuna, more chicken, whey protein shakes, organic green tea, i drink tons of water,i also eat egg whites,
i do about 30-45 minutes of cardio
i dont want to bulk up i just wanna get toned and in shape
OH and i’m 5’7 and currently at 195

When you fuel your body with fat, you have to prime it with dietary fat. It looks like you are eating so much protein with no fat (egg whites? yolk is most nutritous part) A proper low carb diet should be HIGH FAT at least 65% of calories, preferably higher. When you eat low fat protein without additional fat, your body will still run on glucose. Albeit inefficiently, so you probably won’t gain any weight but it doesn’t dip into your fat stores. The body can turn into glucose 100% of carbs, 58% protein and 10% dietary fat. The body prefers to run off glucose but in it’s absence will fuel with fat but there is a 3 day change over process to burning fat, but only one bite process to burning glucose.

This is how I understand it, which may have no basis in truth but I think I’m pretty on target. Make sure your fat intake is 65% of calories. There is usually a stall about the 6th week, keep on and it will continue. The body doesn’t like to give up fat stores easily but when it realizes it has more than enough food it will release it. I had an overnight release of 10# when I increased my calories & carbs (makes absolutely no mathematical sense) but the body is built for survival.

You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don’t eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you’ll need added potassium). Keep your fat percentage high. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.

If you starve yourself, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn’t get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn’t slow your metabolism down to adjust for lower calories.

Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.

Carbs are addictive and can be disastrous to our health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs and eat one every time you want “something” have huge omelets for breakfast, with bacon, a lil onion, peppers, mushrooms & cheese. Pork chops for lunch. Get pork rinds and eat them with tuna salad. Steak for dinner. Make a huge sugar free cheese cake for dessert. Eat so much you won’t feel deprived of anything. By the fourth day, your addiction will be gone and you can start making healthy choices.

High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.

Reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!
