What do you think is better- organic jarred baby food or homemade non organic?

I was mulling this over in my head and couldn’t decide which would be better! (Where I live in rural Canada there is some Organic Produce, but a very limited supply, and it usually looks half rotten. So there’s no variety and it’s really, really not fresh.)

What are your thoughts?

I’d say homemade. As long as you wash the non-organic veggies, there wouldn’t be any danger in eating them, and this way you know exactly what’s in your baby’s food.

As for organic baby food, you don’t know for sure that it wasn’t made out of the half rotten organic produce that they don’t try to sell. And you don’t know how much care they put into washing it.

Another issue is that organic in some cases is not healthier. Peanuts for example, when grown organically are susceptible to mold growth. This mold produces aflatoxins which are very carcinogenic. It is therefore better (for your health) to eat conventional peanuts and peanut products.
